@CAVSMathur Restricted Use of Facebook (20191207)

CA Vikram Shankar Mathur @vbacoder1962

Now this text (please read at leisure not right away) is what I posted at https://fb.me/vsmathurco (In context with restriction of access to https://fb.me/cavsmathur – currently my main profile) on December 6th, 2019 at approx. 17:30 Hours IST

If I try to protect my father’s Facebook Account using my cell/email, it is ‘suspicious activity’ and I am asked to upload photo to prove my identity as my father’s son!!

LOLZ!! Maybe Mahadev is telling me through Facebook – “Beta, abhi bhi waqt hai, chhod dey yeh Facebook-Wastebook!!” (Translation: “My son leave this forum of Facebook-Wastebook – this is exactly the right time to do this!!”)

My Virtual Visiting Card.

Friends, I have not shown my father as my friend or relative, because last I did, he got at least 10-15 SMS/Email daily, which he got fed-up with!! So I un-friended his account.

Now, some blooming imposter has created his fake profile, and to help him (my father, not the inposter), I added my email address and mobile to his account, and BOOM! My @cavsmathur profile is suspended and I am asked to “prove my identity’ to the Security Wizard of Facebook.

Is this what we want our children to become and emulate? Your answer is as good as mine!!

PS: This is a classical case of over-reliance on “#Artifical #Intelligence”, that is, completely automated computerized systems that blindly look for triggers (probably not updated in scores of weeks past) that raise #Red #Flags, where there are none to be raised! If I were to be assigned the administration of the Security Systems of online portals of the scale of Facebook Security (tens of millions of users spread all over the world, not to forget being the single-largest Social Media giant), this would be one of the first things I would demand be updated. How can you tolerate a system accusing you of hacking into the Facebook Profile of someone as near and dear to you as your own father (or father-in-law, for that matter, who happens to be 90+ years of age, and therefore not very tech-savvy) – and in the process, give complete freedom to the imposter (admittedly a ballsy one) who already has a linked fake facebook profile to use for blatant misuse of the friend’s list of the original facebook profile, who happen to be well-renowned doctors settled in all parts of the world, like the USA, UK, Europe, to name a few? And what use is my Forensic Accounting and Fraud Prevention (FAFP) certification, if I am restricted to protect the interest(s) of my family, or my wife and her family? This is actually an indirect Financial Fraud, where the FB User himself is not affected financially, but the fake profile holder benefits to the tune of God-Knows how many foreign currencies paid to him/her in the blind faith that they are paying a very reputed doctor, when in reality it is some imposter stealing the identity of a vastly popular Diabetologist, who currently is also the Physician to the Governer of Gujarat.
